You know, you can get there for free. Us sailboat
owners, especially those that race are always looking for crew. About the best why is to "grow your own" So I'd always taking guests to go sailing and some times (about once a month) the boat goes to Catalina for the weekend. I know several other boat owners like my. I'm not uniuqe. It's kind of a newworking thing I quess like finding dive buddies. But basically if you get involved with sailing you will get to know people and find yourself on boats and someties the boats go to places that are good to dive.

Now some caveots:
Sailboats are not dive boats, they go slow,
They don't have air compessors, nor dive masters
and they mostly can't anchor right at the dive
spot

Some people seem to have more money than time and would much prefer to pay $100 for a trip over and back on a fast boat then to spend a weekend on a slow sail boat. But I think the atraction of sailing _is_ that you go slow with no noise and
sailing is actually a sport in itself

Don't get into sailing just to hitch free rides.
But if you happen to enjoy sailing and take an interest in it yu can always find a spot.
People who are will to learn, will shar the work
wil find them selves welcome on many boats
