Of course it is wonderful that you keep a close eye on your children, but I suspect they are young. As they get older, believe it or not, they will actually want to go to the beach with their friends and be horrified if you stay! So let's assume your kids are now much older and you have just dropped them off to the beach... or they have driven themselves there.
Regarding the staffing of lifeguards, I hope they are successful getting more FT lifeguards and providing benefits for the year-round permanent PT lifeguards. I want to know that the lifeguards on duty are the best trained, most professional and experienced available. Lifeguards are responsible for saving the lives of swimmers, kayakers, surfers and divers every day. I hope Laguna Beach appreciates and supports them so the best ones do not go looking for employment elsewhere.
