It depends on its size. Octopus Bimaculata (2 spot octopus) will eat most crustaceans and fish that are smaller than it.

In the lab, I used to 'glue' a shore crab onto a plexiglass rod, and move it side to side at a frequency of 2 times a second. I also found that you can use a plastic crab glued to the plexiglass rod.

Another approach would be to put a small crab in a glass jar. The octopus will come out to investigate.
