Chris addressed the basic concept ov responsibility in his above post. I don't torture creatures with a strobe. I don't flash it in their eyes over and over. When they choose to leave or appear under any stress, I quit. Get real. The values towards marine life that I have developed over many years of diving definitely did not come from my basic certification, which was by the way, at NASDS - AKA SSA many years ago. It has been the appreciation and respect for marine life that has kept me involved in diving - not the goal of seeing how much money I can spend on SSA approved scuba equipment. You know what - all scuba equipment works.
