I saw SoCalScuba quick advert and had to chuckle about the comment of too much gear. It must be spring/summer cleaning time as I too am thinking of downsizing some gear. First I have to pool it together and figure out what is not being used. First thing comes to mind is a Zeagle Ranger, a ScubaPro AirII, and an Oceanic Delta2 1st/2nd along with a Slimline Octo.
But I get ahead of the thread...is it really possible to have too much gear?? Between the wife (who rarely dives CA water since she found Bonair) & I I think I have uncovered a small cache (not including some stuff that I would never dive but folks have given me because I dive)
12 cylinders ranging from twin 95's down to a 6 cu ft
7 BC's, but 3 of them are really back plates
4 computers ranging from the son of the Brick to something more conservative
13 1st stages
15 2nd stages
an 8 station airfill panel with 2 6 inch gauges (wife says part with it)
a Haskel air booster (ditto about the wife comment)
a Haskel o2 booster (ditto but I bet if I put it in the attic she won't find it)
So for SoCalScuba at DSL X-treme, and anyone else, How do you determine the point of just how much dive gear is too much??
