Once I must have gotten a strobe, a lens, a body part, a something too close to an angle shark. Not touching mind you, just "too close". The next thing I knew a very large mouth opened and some very large teeth attached to a very large body rose out of the sand and for a moment, as I backed off, I experienced the distinct sensation of fear.
Conclusion of study: Be very careful when photographing angel sharks. They seem to like their personal space. If they feel that they are in a position where a protest of personal space infringements can be effective, they will do it.
