I just moved to Orange County. Where to go?

I moved from Los Angeles to HB and was wondering what the best diving is down here. Am I far from San Clemente island? Is there any good local shore diving? I'm going to continue to be a loyal customer to my home dive shop in Los Angeles, however, I'm wondering if there are any good shops that charter boats or clubs around Newport or HB. I'm still new; I've only been certified a year. Thanks in advance!

Also, for anyone who lives down here, is it faster to go to Catalina from Long Beach or Dana Point?
