It couldn't possibly be wholesale habitat destruction, ridiculous amounts of by-catch, or overfishing... could it? Nahhhh it's the whales... we gotta get rid of 'em so we can continue fishing in a voracious orgy of waste. And it was those godammed beavers that ate all the trees.
