Long time no talk!
Take the boat. The wind is way down and a good fog bank has set in to flatten things out. You're launching out of Bragg are you? Go south and start lookin in coves that shore pickers can't get to. Just south of Caspar Beach Campground out on the point is some excellent ab diving. There's some huge lings out there too, remember 1 and 30".
Salmon up Eureka has been picking up so down there they should be starting to slay them (out of Ft. Bragg).
The 300 ft. deep line I think is still the magic number, 5-6 miles out? Check with the locals at the dock, they will always help.
I wish I could get up there to do some diving with you but my new business calls. I'm jealous!
I'm impressed though, you're coming all the way up here to get in the ocean. That's great!
