The color of o-rings can vary since most materials can be colored. Usually the durometer rating (hardness) is more important. In some regulator rebuild kits I get the different hardness of the o-rings are color coded so you can distiguish between o-rings of the same size. Since the use of proper o-rings in regulators is very important, I always get the rebuild kits from the manufacturer instead of using any "approriate" sized o-ring.
