I have the same mask, which works great.
There is nothing magic about toothpaste, it is just soap. The one thing some (but not most) toothpastes have a a mild a abarsive. I think it is this abrasive that helps break the mold release. Instead of toothpaste I normally use a LAVA hand soap, it is abarsive enough.
When you clen your mask to rid it of the mold release, you need to concentrate on the synthetic rubber, not the glass. The synthetic rubber is where the problem is. It is vaporizing from there and depositing on the glass. You need to clean the glass as well, but the soft areas are the source on the poroblem.
