I will never forget the very first time I met Paul. It was at a DEMA show in New Orleans sometime in the late 80's. I was there early by myself, (probably for a NAUI BOD meeting or something) and ended up sharing a cab with he and Dodie. They were both wonderful and friendly, and invited me to join them for dinner that evening. I believe we ended up at Caico's (sp?) in the French Quarter, and a new and wonderful friendship was born.

They have both been dear friends ever since, both personally and, of course, in diving projects or educational programs of all sorts.

As we all know, Paul was one of the gentlest and kindest souls ever put on this earth, and will be missed. But we can all smile warmly as we remember how lucky we are to have known such a great human being, whose essence was to share his love of the sea and his desire to protect it.
