Check http://www.sandeaters.org and then there dive sites. They have an ariel photo (california coast line project) which shows part of the reef. There is a reef on both sides and then out out sea off shore. You can dive the reefs or the sand bottom between. Like most sites, if the vis is good this can be a terrific site, if not, well, its a dive. The reef to the north between the Golf Course stairs and the ramp is the better IMHO.
