Yo: Went for a little freshwater dive a few weeks ago. Dove the dam at Lake Ouachita and found some really clear water for fresh water. Vis was about 30 feet and the thermocline at 22 feet. The water definitely got a lot colder past the thermocline; needed a full 6.5 wetsuit. We dove to 65 feet and followed the ropes course from the mailbox (35 feet), to the golf cart 45 feet (with clubs), to the sunken fishing boats (Kingfisher and other, 55 feet). Great dive but I knew I should have dropped a few pounds for the freshwater. Looked off into the freshwater abyss and thought "I don't think so." Didn't get swallowed by any of those giant catfish, Thank God! Also did a little island diving a found lots of brim/bream and bass. Really did miss the salt and the swell, though. B. Xavier
