New high-speed ferry to Two Harbors on Catalina Island, begins Friday
Catalina Ferries will begin a new high-speed ferry service between Marina del Rey and Two Harbors on Catalina Island Friday, August 20th.
Initially, direct ferry service between the Marina and Two Harbors — with a stop at Avalon — will be offered Fridays through Mondays. Service between the Marina and Two Harbors will initially not be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Catalina Ferries continues its daily service between the Marina and Avalon, Catalina Island.
The ferry service is provided on the 106-foot, 149-passenger Catalina-Marina del Rey Flyer, a 30-mile-an-hour catamaran.
The catamaran is equipped with storage space for camping gear, bicycles and kayaks and has two levels of inside lounge seating, an outside sundeck and a galley.
The ferry service will depart the Marina at Fisherman's Village, 13737 Fiji Way. Parking is provided at the site for $8 a day.
The initial Marina del Rey to Two Harbors service will be provided, leaving the Marina:
on Mondays, at 9:35 a.m. and 3 p.m.;
on Fridays, at 9:35 a.m. and 6 p.m.;
on Saturdays, at 8:20 a.m. and 1 p.m.; and
on Sundays, at 10:05 a.m.
Ferry service to Avalon from the Marina leaves the Marina:
Mondays, at 9:35 a.m. and 3:05 p.m.;
Tuesdays, at 9:35 a.m.;
Wednesdays, at 10:05 a.m.;
Thursdays, at 9:35 a.m.;
Fridays, at 9:35 a.m. and 6:35 p.m.;
Saturdays, at 8:20 a.m. and 1 and 6:30 p.m.; and
Sundays, at 10:05 a.m. and 2:50 p.m.
Round-trip fares between the Marina and Two Harbors or Avalon are $60 for adults, $47 for children 11 years and younger, and $56 for seniors.
