Elaine, as this is a public diving forum and your courageous exposure of your own experience not withstanding, I believe that taking this 'I'll just get my own o2" to the limit may promote further denial of possible DCS. And that once taking the step of 1- diagnosing and 2-treating your symptoms may set a dangerous precedent in that if symptoms were to abate on oxygen exposure, one might be then led to believe any evaluation by an MD or HBO treatment unnecessary. And that would be a great disservice to the community at large.
