I have to disagree with you here Elaine. The vast majority of recreational divers have absolutely no clue about their own physiology let alone how their diving behaviours put them at risk. If you are in the minority who care enough to pursue further education, great. However,discussing use of routine oxygen is outside of that frame of recreational diving. and I haven't even begun to discuss what you perceive to be the knowledge base of the 'medical community'. That is where you as a patient if feeling your physician is deficient in this area, should push for consultation with DAN, or other MDs trained in hyperbaric medicine.
