I really don't understand the stay outside the perimeter of the rigs issue. If you don't want to "get lost" the safest possible place to be is inside of the structure. I've done at least 40 dives out there now and I've never seen an "uptake tube". There isn't too much in there that you could possibly get hurt on either, as long as you don't bump your head - which I've done - but I do that a lot - doesn't matter where I am.
