LA has things to see depending on what you want. You can dive Catalina which is nice. If you go to LA to dive, make it to Santa Monica Pier or one of the Orange County Beaches. Your alternative is to take a boat out of Ventura like the Peace or the Spectre. Go down Hiway 101 from San Francisco. It's pretty. Look at wwww.californiadiveboats.com for boats in Ventura and Oxnard. Check their schedules, call, dive... Diving in the Channel Islands is milder than Monterey.
