I highly recommend that everyone take advantage of the current conditions. I dove Laguna (Dead Mans) this weekend and it was by far the best shore dive I've ever had...better than many island dives.
This heat wave means there was no marine layer in the A.M., so the sun was bright & clear at 9:00 (which seems VERY rare these days). Water temp at the surface was 70, 65 degrees at 55 ft. Viz must have been greater than 55 ft, because at max depth of 55 ft I could still see the surface. Fish EVERYWHERE, including octopus. Surge was also the lightest I've ever experienced. Just plain idyllic.
So with viz so good and sun so bright, I saw more of that reef than I ever have before.
GO DIVE!!
