I second a bp a wing.
I started with a vest bc abd weight belt borrowed from a friend. Liked the belt but not the vest . So I ended up buying a back inflate w/ integrated weights. Liked the back inflate hated the integrated weights. It also took 5 releases to get out of the thing. BP/WING 1 release. Weight belt 1 release. Back inflate moved all over underwater barrel rolls were difficult.
With a BP/WING the crotch strap keeps everything in place. Plus extra weight off the belt with all the unnecessary extra nylon,do dads and a 6# chunk of Stainless steel.

I'm currently down for the next 3-6 months from back surgery. Caught me right in the middle of researching the wing I want. I already have the SS BP and harness now I need a Halcyon Pioneer
36# wing. Maybe X-mas!?!
I don't consider myself a tech or DIR diver just a rec diver that wants to be comfortable and in control in the water.

Sea ya, Jeff
