Over the years there have been numerous occassions when the local visibility expands to the "blue room" effect. Perhaps a half dozen times where I couls see the Olympic II from the surface - it is 100 foot to the bottom. Several times, just 10 to 20 feet off the wreck of the Moody, I could plainly see our boat overhead, and make out details of props, rudders and transducers. Heck, just this last weekend, visibility on SM Bay was up in the 50+ foot range. JLyle and company were flashing strobes all over the Star of Scotland, and will probably have some images up at some point.
Unfortunately, often, when the conditions are good, and the viz is 50, 70. 100 or more, we all are grinding away, at our money-making jobs instead of what we should be doing - marinating in salt water...
