Steven D and I did some night diving this week to check out our best lobster spots along the coast for tonight. We started Tuesday night and ended very early this morning. Tuesday we saw the most legal sized lobsters in Deer Creek in 30 feet. Leo had lobsters too but not as many at about half. Pescadero had a lot of legal sized lobsters but not as many as Deer Creek. We dove Catalinas west end Wednesday and last night for three dives each. We started at 8:30 and finally started home at about 2:30 am each morning. We dove the isthmus, eagle reef, indian rock, johnsons rock, empire and the quarry. Indian rock had the most legal lobsters. Isthmus had lobsters too but they were at the bottom of the ledge. We anchored near the high reef marker pipes. The only place we saw legal sized lobsters in shallow water was at empire. There were many lobsters but over half were probably too short. The quarry was so so. We are going to start at Deer Creek tonight. Good luck to all.
