Macho buddy divers, had bad experiences with them early in my diving days. Women divers make much better partners when diving. They don't do something stupid to feed their macho ego's.
My buddy now is a new diver, but he is a friend and coworker of 25 years. At work we have dealt with countless emergency situations. I know this guy has a cool head and is less prone to panick. His macho ego doesn't come out till after a couple of "after the dive" six packs of Mexican beer;-)
