You are allowed only 7 in your possesion (hand+bag+boat+car+house+fridge+freezer = or < 7 total) unless you have filed a multi-day permit.

The aregument about abolone may explain why there are endangered and taken only north of SF and by skin divers.

Take what you can use, eat them and then come back for more on another day.
