Most of the ocean is a desert. That's just a fact of ocenography.
I probably should have said that warm water is a desert compared to cold water. There are oasis' in a desert, but as an ecologist, what I say is true. It's why coral reefs are so fragile compared to cold water reefs.
Sorry, I can't give you comparitive biomass figures, but it's still the case.
While I said it to make a point, it's still basically true. It's just a matter of ecology, biomass, etc. You might find that surprising, but it is true.
Compare warm water to the Galopogas.....
