If you get a Fisher metal detector, it won't detect gold, will it? You have to use the old fashioned method of fanning the sand yourself, to find gold, don't you?
I am not sure why divers take brass. I guess they figure, that if they don't somebody else will. Or maybe its just ego.
I sort of have to agree with Williams' disdain of illegal salvage of brass parts. Gold, of course, is a totally different fever however, ageless and timeless.
