That's the guy! Great composition - the squid eggs really provide a great contrasting background.
I believe our sighting of this unusual little creature was due to the less than ideal vis that night - we concentrated on the bottom a lot more and were treated to sightings of scores of juvenile and smaller critters. Never thought we'd see a pipefish - now we'll look for them at our annual LaJolla dive as well. What a wonderful ocean we have to explore right here in our So Cal backyard - and a low cost beach dive to boot!
