It takes the nice detailed schools of evenly exposed fish and burns holes in the whites, blurs the grays, and sinks the rest into black. For some reason, the Scala really scrambles its circuit board. I've tried RGB, grayscale, manual exposure and focus, shifting the histograms - so far and nothing has worked.
I'm going to experiment with it some more but so far not a lot of luck. The one I posted worked I think because there was contrast. I would think that the dynamic range of the ED could handle it but maybe not.
