Turning off the Digital ICE helped. Putting a dip in the upper right curve axis is also working wonders. I think I'm figuring out corrections that the scanner needs for the Scala but it is a lot of work.
Every time a get an image up to what I think is about the best it is going to get, I want to pull out the crayon box. In B&W you definitely have to paint with light or it kills the entire image.
