Yep.

The vessel was cut waaay below the main deck.
All of the structure that now exists were interior compartments - not deck structure - that were below the main deck.

The initial plan was to sink her much shallower (about 70-fsw) if I recall correctly) than where she ended up. Hence the requirement to remove so much of the ship's material.

Funny how Murphy is involved in so many of the artificial reef sinkings. At least Palawan ended upright on the bottom, unlike some other artificials.
