Actually a larger tank is less maintenance and better for the fish. Smaller tanks are too much work. Knowledge and experience is everything. It makes the difference between slaving over a tank and enjoying a tank. Setup is the most important and the most work. Correct planning to minimize maintenance is very important. There is a lot of worthless and expensive aquarium equipment out there. Ask around for some good recommendations before throwing down dollars for bad equipment. That requires more work than routine maintenance or kills all your fish.
