Diving NZ is a bit like diving California they have big crawdads and kelp. A lot of folks head to the north island to Poor Knights. If you head south it can get real cool during June. One of the natural shipwrecks is the Mikail Lermontov. It got scrapped on the hull and was a total loss. I belive one death resulted from the sinking. The navy took pains to remove the bunker oil. A few divers have ended their lives on the site, sorry you wreck keepsake divers, no pillaging is allowed. GreEn Peace has a boat there to visit also. The French are to blame for that one along with tthe killing of one or two folks. There are some other wreks there and the site does list a few of the locations.
