Yes, so long as you watch them carefully as not to
over-zap them. MW tail is a quick and easy way to
make a snack, very nice on the boat in between dives. I've done it with the shell on and off with
good results both ways.
Just zap them until the meat STARTS to turn white, or rather opaque. They will continue to cook a bit
more after they are removed from the oven.
