I assume that by "vehicle" you mean xylene is a solvent. Xylene is a mixture of three different dimethylbenzenes, commonly used as a solvent.
You need to understand that there isn't any xylene in "Musk xylene." It is called that because part of the molecule contains structural features similar to one of the xylenes. Musk xylene is 5-tert-butyl-2,4,6-trinitro-m-xylol, a pure compound, not a mixture.
