Got bombed at Redondo Beach
Although it is true that my partying days are long gone, I got bombed in Redondo last night. Seal bombed that is.
The pre-dive gander at the shoreline at approx 6:00 PM showed nearly no waves and a very pleasant December warm night. By the time we suited up my buddy asked, “Hey, what’s with those boats all lit up?” I explained that they were squid boats, and that we were probably going to experience some underwater percussion.
I had never experienced this, but the first couples were not so bad. But then around 80+ fsw they were really harsh.
The feeling for those who have not had the experience, it is not unlike when some kid in the neighborhood sets off an M-80 while you are just about to fall asleep on the couch. Except with these there is very much a feel to it too.
I am glad to have had the experience, but it was quite annoying.
The dive showed some rays, a lot of wavy top snails, a few crabs, one squid and a disembottled label from the Thunderbird Wine Company. I am not sure what year.
