I don't know what the minimum distance on your camera is, but, getting closer would help a lot. One of the trade offs in phototography is that you have to pick what you want to be the subject of a photograph. If you want it to be your daughters eyes, then you have to plan the entire shot around them. That is how you will see her eyes. When you try and include too much into a photo it becomes a salad instead of the plate of tomatoes that you wanted to photograph. Remember - less is more.
