There is nothing OTC, it is definitely a MD visit. Usually your local health department can tell you what prevention, if any, that you need for a specific area - try contacting them There are a couple of different things that can be prescribed for prevention. I took Lariam and it worked fine for me - some people have a lot of side effects with this drug though. It is just one of those drugs that if you don't need it, you don't want it.
