The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) and the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) are considering expansion of the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS )program into the open access groundfish fisheries. Public meetings will be jointly sponsored by NMFS, state fishery management agency for the state involved, and the Council.
