If at all possible I would rent the weights when you get where your going. Why drag extra weight if you don't have to? :)

I've never not been allowed with my regulator on my carry on, however they HAVE hassled me before not knowing what my reg was. One time I forgot to tell them before my bag went through the xray. They brought me and my carry on over to the side and was pretty rude to me. Some people working security are not educated in dive gear. I'm glad someone from TSA that was educated was there at the time otherwise they might not had let me get on the plane with my reg. Has happened 2 other times even after I told them it was in there. Every time it happened at Burbank/Bob Hope Airport.

In my opinion I would rent tank and weights when I get to my destination. Much easier!
