Yes that is true. Every store and restraunt have Japanese speeking help. I was told that 98 percent of tourists on Guam are Japanese. The dive shops were teaching 4 to 1 japanese classes.
Guam being my first diving ever was a great experience by not having to fight the 7mm suit with the rest of the gear. My only other dives so far have been at catalina when my wife was certified and our advanced open water Padi classes. We did our fist dives in Piti channel and the rest in the harbor. I do know that at 20' deep the water was 84 Deg. and about 60' vis.
