Big vs. Little Corona

That beach in your picture is "Big" Corona del Mar Beach. Not much of a snorkeling spot because it's mostly sand. There are more fish along the breakwater, but I've never found the visibility along there to be good.

On the other hand, if you go just to the southeast on that street overlooking the beach (Ocean Blvd?) to where it dead-ends at Poppy, you'll get to Little Corona, which is a nice little cove framed by rock reefs. When visibility is fair, that can be a nice place to snorkel.
