Ya know, I try to take you seriously and I am sure you are a good diver, but that is just not so about air. I even prefer NITROX for my own reasons, but I don't see anyone getting Darwin awards for diving with air. It sounds silly when someone says that air is killing people. Go a bit deep with air and you will probably be fine. Do it with NITROX and good luck, you may die.
Besides, realistically NITROX is not an option for most local diving. Only a couple of boats can pump it. It's not convenient to get in local dive shops. Making it themselves is not an option for most people.
