I used to dive with a Black Diamond BC and was very happy with it. My diving style has changed dramatically in the last few years and now mine is sitting in my closet...coolecting dust...and for sale! ;)
I have to say that it's a well made BC and very comfortable to dive with, but it's a whole lotta BC. It has some huge amount of lift (50 lbs or something like that) which is probably WAY more than needed for single tank local diving. I'm not a huge fan of the pockets; they tend to be pretty useless. The wing design can capture air in it and initally make it a little difficult to dump all the air out, but after a few dives, you'll figure out how to work with that and it pretty much becomes a non-issue.
