Hmmmm....I could find weather, tide, and current conditions on the catalinadivers.com web site, but nothing about visibility. I'm sure that bit of info. has to come from someone who has put masks in the water yesterday or today. So....has anyone?

Last weekend there was a persistent layer of low viz (as low as 5ft) water down to 40ft, and then things opened up to about 20-25ft (based on observations down to 100ft depth). I heard speculation that the poor viz was caused by an algae that proliferates in seawater that has been diluted somewhat by freshwater. Check out some photos I took last weekend, posted at www.francisquito.org on the Water Planet page. Even at 100ft it was pretty murky by Catalina standards.
