you will LOVE diving Catalina for the kelp and sealife.
I think that it is best to embrace the water as refreshing, not cold.
I have dove with several warm water divers. In every instance there was a boyancy problem. The end of the dive usually wound up in excessivly fast acents due to the extra neoprene/weight issue. After a while I grew to expect this and would grab my buddies fins and release some air from their BC.
You may not have this happen, but it is a good idea to prepare for it.
Yes the casino is a good dive.
You will LOVE the kelp!
