The Eastern Sierra is a whole different world. There are all kinds of special places with special stories. I like your post. It brought back memories of others places.

As a roving Hydroelectric operator I use to stop. Once in a while and take care of this graveyard out in the middle of no where.

I use to scuba dive for crawdads at June Lake.

I know way to many sad stories about the area. It does have really big crawdads though and some very cold water. My buddy and I completely filled a large ice chest with huge crawdads. We called the hunt and the feast "crawdad massacres".
