The important thing to remember is that the key word is"forcast". I have been out many times in
the Santa Barbara Channel and have had horrible boat rides out and have had wonderful dive days in the protection of the islands.
If you are going out with a comercial dive boat remember most of the boats in the Ventura area do not fall into the catagory of "small craft".
I never try to forcast the weather more than 12 hours prior becouse the NOAA reports are often wrong.
If you are considering a comercial dive boat I highly reccomend the "Peace". Eric is one of the top captains in Socal and really runs a great operation. Their Dive Store has excellent service as well.
