My picks....

PEPPERS in Pacific Grove about 100' off LightHouse near the Museum of Natural History.
Baja style Mexican Sea Food. 170 Forest Av (831) 373-6892 Popular with locals in Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove and visitors who learn about it thru locals. Good curb appeal in this area and lots of ambiance. Nice aftermeal walk along LightHouse in the main town of Pacific Grove.

Off the path in Seaside on Broadway in a small 2 business strip mall there is a top notch Mexican restuarant VERY popular with our Mexican and Mexican/American population called "Marisco's Puerto Nuevo" at 580 Broadway (831) 583-0411
Very Popular with Locals who know good food and are not concerned with looks or the local business curb appeal. No ambiance...just good food.
One of my favorites for lunch...try the home prepared tamales.

Lots of EXCELLANT "Americanized Mexican dishes..BUT their authentic Mexican dishes and their Mexican sea food menu is extensive and prices are $8 to maybe $12 or $13 depending on the main dish availability (catch). Lunches easily under $9.00
