Unless you want to look like you are spending a day at Club Med that system is no better than any other. Every boat has developed a system that usually works for them. I would much rather have each boat use the system that they are most comfortable with instead of having to do something that has been imposed upon them. There is no boat out there that doesn't always try to assure that they have not left anyone behind. .

Things like bracelets are a knee jerk reaction based on the false assumption that DM's who can't count to twenty will suddenly be less challanged by counting 20 bracelets instead of counting 20 people.

Let the boats decide how they want to do their job. Health care has determined that that is what usually what works best.
